1. Installation from Apple App Store

Download the official SirenUA application from the Apple App Store. The app requires an iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.

2. Mandatory System Permissions

To ensure guaranteed and life-saving delivery of critical alerts, configure the following during first launch:

• Critical Alerts Permission: Tap «Allow». This permits emergency air sirens to sound at full volume even if your iPhone is muted or in Do Not Disturb / Focus Sleep mode.
• Location Services: Select «Allow While Using App». Location access is used strictly for calculating real-time pedestrian walking routes to nearby bomb shelters.
• Background App Refresh: Confirm that iOS Background App Refresh is enabled to maintain real-time threat map synchronization.

3. Region & District Selection

Select your home province (e.g. Kyiv Region / Kyiv City) and specific administrative districts for localized precision alerts.

SirenUA provides independent toggles for every threat class:

• 🔴 Official Air Raid Alert: Regional sirens triggered by Ukrainian Air Force directives.
• 🚀 High-Speed Missiles (Cruise / Ballistic): Immediate alerts upon telemetry acquisition or launch sector detection.
• 🛵 Loitering Munitions (Shahed-136): Trajectory tracking for attack drones with estimated arrival vector.
• 💣 Glide Bombs (KAB) & Tactical Jets: Warning when enemy tactical aviation approaches bomb release lines.
• ✈️ Strategic Aviation Takeoffs: Early warnings when Tu-95MS / Tu-22M3 bombers take off 1–2 hours prior to launches.

Custom Audio Profiles

In Settings > Audio, select classical air raid sirens, modern electronic tones, or soft tactical chimes to identify threats by sound alone.

4 Certified Shelter Tiers

All civil defense shelters are categorized by physical protection level:

1. Tier 1 (Sealed Deep Bunkers): Metro stations, reinforced civil defense facilities with filtered ventilation. Protects against direct strikes and CBRN contamination.
2. Tier 2 (Specialized Facilities): Anti-radiation shelters and solid monolithic underground bunkers.
3. Tier 3 (Dual-Use Structures): Underground parking lots and residential basements with dual exits.
4. Tier 4 (Temporary Basements): Ground-floor and basement spaces for immediate fragmentation protection.

3-Step Pedestrian Navigation

• Step 1: Open the «Shelters» tab — SirenUA instantly identifies the closest Tier 1–3 facility.
• Step 2: Check walking time and distance (e.g., 250m • 3 min walk).
• Step 3: Tap «Navigate» for turn-by-turn walking directions (works 100% offline).

Map Regional Color Codes

• 🔴 Red: Active official regional air raid alert.
• 🟠 Orange: Real-time neural detection of active high-speed aerial threats in sector.
• 🟡 Yellow: Elevated attention zone or potential incoming trajectory corridor.
• 🔵 Blue: Calm safe status, no incoming threats detected.

Reading Trajectory Vectors

Dynamic arrow vectors indicate real-time flight bearings, projected waypoint turns, and estimated time of arrival (ETA) to your district.

Reading Threat Telemetry

SirenUA tracks 5 heterogeneous intelligence feeds. Key operational indicators include:

• Tu-95MS / Tu-22M3 Takeoffs: Signals a coordinated missile strike; typical cruise flight time is 40–90 minutes.
• Black Sea Surface/Submarine Deployments: Signals sea-launched Kalibr cruise missile salvoes targeting central/southern Ukraine.
• Ballistic Missile Launch Locks: Requires immediate transition to bunkers (flight time < 3 minutes).

Two-Wall Rule & Safety Protocols

If you cannot reach a certified Tier 1–2 bunker in time, immediately take cover behind two solid interior walls (hallway or bathroom) away from windows.
